Anna Melisano Falls Short In UFC Debut

Looking to create new positive momentum in her next fight, Anna Melisano (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) fell short against the crafty veteran Dione Barbosa (10-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC) in Oklahoma, via Rear Naked Choke at 4:04 in Round 1. Melisano, the former TUF (The Ultimate Figher) number one pick was unable to overcome the grapple technique of the Barbosa, and tapped while standing.
Melisano put in a much better effort against Barbosa than (Melissa) Amaya in her previous fight, but the result was the same, ultimately losing by submission in the opening round.
After a two-fight skid Melisano, is sure to want to take some time away to recalibrate and think about her next move.
