Fury Dominates And Stops Wilder In Rematch

Tyson Fury entered his rematch 42 pounds heavier than Deontay Wilder; and he made every single pound count. Wilder had no answer for Fury's combination of high level boxing and relentless aggression. Fury knocked Wilder down in the third round with a right hand to the side of the head, and again in the fifth with a left hook to the body. From the opening bell Fury pressed Wilder, forcing him to spend virtually all of the fight moving backwards and on the ropes, a place where Wilder seldom is. Wilder never looked comfortable, and a right hand in the 7th forced his trainer Mark Breland to throw in the towel.

A busted and bleeding eardrum, busted lip, and swollen jaw, were all visible on Wilder. In the post-fight in-ring interview Wilder conceded that Fury was the better fighter, and that he himself entered the fight will minor nagging injuries. Wilder said he is open to a third fight with Fury.

UPDATE: Wilder will forgo the post fight conference and be taken to a local hospital to receive medical attention for his busted eardrum.
